First Appointment Overview

What happens at the first visit

Step 1: Intake and goals
We’ll review your health history and talk through what you want help with. If you’re not sure how to describe it, that’s normal. We’ll ask the right questions.

Step 2: Treatment
Treatment is matched to your comfort level. We explain what we’re doing and why, and we adjust as needed.

Step 3: Your plan
You’ll leave with clear next steps and a plan that fits your goals and your schedule.

Forms and Prep

  • New patients must complete health history forms at least 24 hours before the first appointment
  • Wear, loose comfortable clothing
  • Have a light meal or snack 1–2 hours before your appointment

What does it feel like?

Does it hurt?

Answer
Most people feel very little. You might notice a quick pinch, warmth, heaviness, or a deep exhale feeling. Many people leave surprised by how relaxed they feel.

We adjust to your comfort level, keep the pace calm and explain the process prior to your treatment. You can ask questions any time.

After your Session

What should I expect?

  • Feeling calm, relaxed, grounded and alert
  • Subtle shifts over 24-48 hours
  • Everyone responds differently, we track what you notice

How often should I come In?

How many treatments will I need?

Answer
It depends on your goals and how long symptoms have been present. Many plans start with a short series, then reassess.

  • It depends on your goals and how long symptoms have been present. Many plans start with a focused series, then reassess
  • New issues often respond differently than long-term patterns
  • Chronic conditions may take longer to respond, depending on the type, severity, and duration
  • Consistency matters. The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative, so more than one treatment is recommended
  • We adjust based on what you notice between visits and your response
